BMW CONCEPT SKYTOP POWER, PRECISION & CRAFTSMANSHIP.

The minimalist appearance of the BMW Concept Skytop aims to evoke a yearning for adventure. A handful of sharp lines define its tight, muscular surfaces and channel the vehicle’s volume towards the back. The traditional door handles are replaced with winglets that are subtly incorporated into the door shoulders. The use of light-alloy wheels adorned with precisely laminated panels enhances its distinctive appearance.

Looking down from above, one can’t help but notice the broad and sweeping bonnet as well as the retractable rear portion and the trademark BMW shark-nose design with illuminated kidney grille. The renowned BMW Z8 roadster was thoughtfully referenced. The sharp spline that begins at the bonnet, continues through the cabin, and ends at an aluminium accent on the tailboard is quite eye-catching and emphasises the dynamic flow of the profile.

The intricate features are subtly integrated into the overall idea by the headlights’ harmonious form. The LED units, mounted on milled aluminium carriers, were designed specifically for the BMW Concept Skytop and use the most cutting-edge technology and design for the most slender headlights on the market. Because of its minimalist, uncluttered form, all of the lighting components may be housed in one convenient location. The BMW Concept Skytop looks great as a whole, and the back lights are a nice touch with their flat, sharp design.

Behind the two seats of the BMW Concept Skytop is a roll-over bar with a leather finish. A completely retractable back glass and side fins on the B-pillar connect the bar. There is a dedicated storage area in the trunk for the two detachable roof panels, which are likewise upholstered in leather.

Whether the roof is open or covered, the colour palette guarantees a seamless transition from the inside to the outside. The outside painting is a subdued silver with a chrome shadow appearance, and the roof is a reddish-brown tone at the back. At BMW Group Plant Dingolfing, a master painter created the technically complex colour gradient.

Inside, you’ll find leather seats with brogue detailing. The interior is characterised by an air of spaciousness and elegance, thanks to the continuous colour scheme created by the reddish-brown surfaces. The cockpit has elegantly integrated crystal applications that enhance the overall image. The classic saddlery of the BMW Group’s Dingolfing facility was used to construct the inside surfaces of the BMW Concept Skytop.

Additionally, the engine options are comparable to those of the BMW Z8. The most powerful V8 engine available from BMW is standard on both the iconic Roadster and the BMW Concept Skytop.
