Granturismo (‘grand touring’) is a way of life

The GranTurismo represents the distinctive idea that “The Others Just Travel” and is much more than just a vehicle. The House of the Trident is also moving forward with this model because it is the first vehicle in the brand’s history to use a fully electric drivetrain. The new GranTurismo is actually a Maserati with two souls. One is a full-electric vehicle with 800-volt technology, while the other is powered by a potent V6 Nettuno gasoline engine. It perfectly embodies the principles and unyielding character of the House of the Trident. It offers a distinctive fusion of performance, style, and luxury, created to satisfy every client need across the whole product line available.

Innovative technological and conceptual design; timeless aesthetics. These are the elements that give something iconic status. And for more than 75 years, these have been the inherent qualities of all Maserati GranTurismo vehicles. After World War II, during the Italian economic boom, when we displayed to the world our exceptional products, our strength, optimism, and carefree attitude, as well as our willingness to work hard but also to have fun, the idea of granturismo (lit. “grand touring”) was born.

Maserati made history at the time by figuring out how cars could be both sporty and comfortable after World War II. As a result, the House of the Trident created a brand-new definition of luxury “granturismo” mobility as a symbol of a new way of life: a two-door coupé with a true four-seater that combined performance and comfort with an exquisite interior.

Presently, the business is elevating its most recognisable vehicle to the pinnacle of innovation and moving towards the future by providing an electric version of the Maserati GranTurismo. As a result, GranTurismo is the physical incarnation of Maserati’s DNA and stands out for its sound (both with the gasoline engine and in the Folgore version), as well as for its state-of-the-art technical innovations, exceptional performance, comfort, and elegance.

The new generation is based on three principles:

Sportiness means being light and paying attention to how the weight is distributed, which makes the car agile and fun to drive. It also means being strong and muscular on the track and on the road.

Luxury: the utmost attention paid to the use of prestigious materials, enhanced by superb finishes in the exterior as much as in the interior; the perfect blend of dynamism and elegance, to produce Maserati’s unmistakably Italian style.

Comfort: There is just enough room for four adults to sit comfortably, which is made possible by the high quality of the standard features. This adds to the Maserati-style driving experience.

The most important factors are the most luxurious materials and finishes, a lot of use of lightweight materials, the power of the powertrains, four-wheel drive, and four real seats. With the new GranTurismo, Maserati has found a way to combine sports performance with long-distance comfort with both powerful internal combustion engines and the most cutting-edge 100% electric solutions. By focusing on customer requests from the earliest stages of development onward. It serves as a benchmark for the category and embodies the idea that “The Others Just Travel.”

The interior decor strikes the perfect harmony between a functional and an artistic approach. A combination that results in a natural beauty and a design that is timeless and unaffected by trends.

Maserati has created sculpted technology, a pure shape fit to cover best-in-class mechanics, emphasising the purity of its shapes and refined design cues, with clearly distinct and instantly identifiable lines.

The long bonnet, the long central body, and the four fenders that cross it have been preserved, giving the new GranTurismo even more emphasis on the classic proportions of the brand’s cars. On the other hand, the roof line dynamically descends to highlight the pillar’s curved design, which bears the recognisable Trident emblem.

It was also decided to keep the same style as the last generation, which was liked by customers. The surfaces have a pleasingly dynamic appearance thanks to the simultaneously elegant and decisive profile; the lines are sinuous, the volumes are soft, and the wheel arches have particular characterization to emphasise the transition between the design’s refinement and the car’s technical features.

The front of the GranTurismo also has vertical lights, which are now a signature feature of all new Maserati cars starting with the MC20 halo car. The car has a modern, sporty appearance thanks to this stylistic choice. In contrast, the recognisable 3D Trident emblem is present on the front grille. New taillights, a hybrid of the traditional boomerang shape from many Maserati models in the past and a harpoon, are present at the rear. This design, which is illuminated by Full LED technology, gives the GranTurismo an instantly recognizable, powerful personality, particularly from the rear.

When the keyholder is nearby, GranTurismo delivers the driver and their passengers a personalised greeting that includes an interior and exterior lighting strategy. At the same time, the doors and trunk can be unlocked automatically; they lock back up when the car is moved away from. When the key is three metres away from the vehicle, the lights turn on, the doors unlock, and an automatic sequence begins in the interior when the doors are closed.

The “cofango,” a combination of the words “bonnet” and “fender,” refers to a single section of the car that includes these two parts, and is one of the most recognisable and emblematic features of the GranTurismo design. The GranTurismo “cofango,” produced by a market leader in this technology, leads the market in terms of dimensions with a surface area of more than 3 m2. The GranTurismo’s curves were created using industrial moulds, yielding an overall excellent finish.

A characteristic of the Maserati DNA that also applies to the new GranTurismo, the pursuit for beauty is in constant conversation with technology research on potent pigments and creative applications. The starting point is inspiration from the Italian landscape. The goal is to create a surface that is constantly interacting with matter and light.

Six colours are offered at launch for the Maserati GranTurismo: Bianco, Grigio Maratea, Grigio Maratea Matte, Nero Ribelle, Blu Emozione, and Blu Nobile. As part of the Maserati Fuoriserie customization programme, a new selection of unique tints, combinations, and the ability to customise your car with premium materials will be available in addition to these standard colours.

The choices for the PrimaSerie Launch Edition and the colour scheme that introduces the line, which includes Grigio Cangiante (the launch colour for the Modena version), Rosso Granturismo (for the Trofeo version), and Rame Folgore, are examples of Fuoriserie exterior colours (for the Folgore version). Customers can choose from a total of twelve additional colours in addition to the Fuoriserie Giallo Corse hue from the Fuoriserie Corse and Futura collection.

Dedicated to utility and Maserati design features, the design is pure and modern. The visual symbols used in the interior design of the car are inventive reinterpretations of Italian architecture and craftsmanship that draw inspiration from the brand’s home country, Italy. By choosing to use a diverse range of materials, methods, and colours, Maserati has chosen to express its numerous overarching concepts rather than just adding ornamentation. The car’s distinctive materials and manufacturing techniques are a representation of engineered craftsmanship, or the Italian artisan tradition in conversation with cutting-edge technology.

GranTurismo follows in the footsteps of the MC20 super sports car and the Grecale SUV, where Maserati first established a line of interiors based on its “Balance of the Opposites” philosophy. Italian craftsmanship and local tradition stand in opposition to modernity and technology. As soon as you step inside the cabin, you’ll notice the contrast between luxury and technology, as specially made materials combine with enormous screens, precise mechanics, and a cutting-edge digital user interface. The interior design was motivated by the idea of a pure, contemporary, and expressive design with room for new technology. Everything is focused on functionality. The lack of a gear lever allows for maximum use of the available space, resulting in a number of functional storage areas with a striking visual presence. The core tunnel is fully clutter-free (all commands are digital), and it showcases premium materials.

The layout is similar to that of a sports car, with highly dynamic door panels and a colour scheme that draws attention to the dashboard’s design, which appears to fly above the main portion thanks to the fine craftsmanship of the various trim levels. The whole interior of the cabin is made of “genuine material,” which fosters a sense of complete harmony. The built-in headrests and athletic yet comfy seats carry over the cabin’s design even in the backrest. For a lighter total weight of the car, they are constructed on a lightweight frame. The back seats have the same appearance as their front counterparts: two spacious, incredibly comfy areas.

The new GranTurismo steering wheel raises the bar for sportiness. The centre part includes buttons for Start/Stop and Drive Mode Control. The stitching and decorations are Nero Lucido, matching the colour of the leather. The third version of Maserati’s signature “appendage” is highlighted by the chrome-plated embellishments. Nero and Denim are the two colour choices for the steering wheel. The latter has a unique shade and is paired with interiors that are the same shade as those seen on the Folgore variant. Only on the Trofeo variant, the Start/Stop button is located in the specific Blu, and the sides of the steering wheel are perforated leather. The steering wheel paddles come standard in brushed dark aluminum. The GranTurismo Trofeo and GranTurismo Folgore come standard with a heated steering wheel.
