Karma Invictus takes an Intense and Visceral Persona…

At the Concours at Wynn Las Vegas, Karma Automotive unveiled the Karma Invictus, the first member of the premium Karma Collection. With its distinctive carbon fibre bodywork, luxurious interior, and driver-centric performance enhancements supported by Karma's tried-and-true hybrid Extended Range Electric (EREV) drivetrain, this performance-orientated version of the revolutionary Revero sedan cranks up the heat in every department. Price and availability details for the limited edition Karma Invictus will be disclosed at a later date. There will be just 30 units made and sold globally.

The 3rd Generation Karma Revero, Karma Invictus's stablemate, will start shipping to customers in the US and EU later this month, putting it in a higher position.

With its powerful posture and low-slung road presence, Karma Invictus makes a stunning first impression. The carbon fibre hood, roof, and trunk are fully shown by the highly sophisticated painting that moves from Pacifico Grey to the centre of the car's rear, amplifying this eYect. Carbon fibre is also used to replace the front fenders of the Karma Invictus. These fenders include louvred vents that release air pressure from the front wheel arches, making airflow management better. Michelin PS4S tires, which are now 10mm wider at the back (295/35 R21), provide improved traction, while blacked-out emblems and carbon fibre accents adorn the rocker panels and rear spoiler. The wheels are 21 inches in diameter and have a polished split 5-spoke design.

Ohlins Advanced Motorsports coil-overs with Swift springs are part of the chassis upgrade. At the limit of a turn and on rough terrain, Karma Invictus provides more grip and predictability in addition to more direct and accurate steering. The end result is a more driver-centric experience, and the Karma Invictus can go from zero to sixty miles per hour in about 3.97 seconds, which is more than half a second faster than the 3rd Gen Revero.

Starting with striking anodised aluminium door sill plaques engraved to the client's demands and the vehicle's sequence in the limited run of just 30 copies, the inside of Karma Invictus continues the distillation of the experience. Front passenger heated and ventilated seats have been re-trimmed with an art deco pattern that pays homage to the American inventiveness and design spirit that inspires Karma Automotive and the New York City landmark that shares its name: the Chrysler Building. "Karma Invictus" is stitched on the front headrests and repeated with a tone-on-tone logo on the passenger side dashboard; the motif is also present in the stitching of the centre armrest and internal door panels (both front and rear).

Similar to the third-generation Karma Revero, the hybrid EREV powertrain is shared with the Karma Invictus. An impressive blend of economy, performance, and drivability is provided by its 28 kWh HV battery pack, which, in conjunction with a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine and an onboard generator, powers the 400 kW 2-motor propulsion system. With 536 hp and 550 lb-ft of torque, as well as an electric-only range of up to 80 miles and a total range of 360 miles, this configuration offers the elegance of an electric car for everyday use with the flexibility of an internal combustion engine for longer trips.

"Karma Invictus takes an intense and visceral persona, amplifying its performance with a sharpened chassis paired with bespoke exterior and interior appointments to create a new identity for this legendary four-door GT," says Marques McCammon, President, Karma Automotive. "As with the 3rd Generation Karma Revero, which begins delivering to clients later this month, the Karma Invictus unleashes the potential of its spaceframe by marrying lightweight carbon fibre bodywork with our innovative hybrid Extended Range Electric powertrain."
