Making its Global Debut; Venom F5 'Revolution Roadster' Hypercar.
The new Venom F5 Revolution Roadster hypercar, debuted globally by Texas-based Hennessey Special Vehicles, is covered in stunning, exposed carbon fiber. Following the release of the roofless Venom F5 Roadster last year and the track-ready Venom F5 Revolution Coupe this year, the Revolution Roadster combines the finest qualities of both vehicles: intense open-air cruising with a racing circuit emphasis.
With increased agility, uncompromised handling, and more downforce, the new Venom F5 Revolution Roadster is completely redesigned from its Coupe sister for maximum performance on the road and track. Aerodynamic upgrades, such as notably bigger front and rear splitters, dive planes on the front fascia, and a unique rear wing, as well as suspension tweaks, new wheels, and digital track telemetry, are included in a package of track-focused upgrades. The engine bay of the F5 is supplied with fresh, cold air via a high-mounted central air scoop that was carried over from the Revolution Coupe.
The F5 Revolution Roadster's roof has been redesigned with a detachable panel made of robust carbon fibre composites to set it apart from the Coupe form. The single-piece roof is lined with soft Alcantara upholstery and is completely weatherproof. The weatherproof panel is fastened with four quick-release bolts and two high-strength latches to withstand the hypercar's incredible acceleration power and aerodynamic forces at high speeds. With only 18 lbs (8 kg) in weight, the thin roof panel is light enough for one person to easily remove and reinstall.
Hennessey's renowned twin-turbocharged, 6.6-litre 'Fury' V8 combustion engine, mid-mounted in the carbon fibre monocoque chassis, is shared by all previous Venom F5 vehicles and produces an astounding 1,817 horsepower. The Venom F5 Revolution Roadster, like the F5 Roadster, comes equipped with a strong tempered glass engine viewing window to highlight the powerful drivetrain. The glass is enclosed within a detachable carbon fibre engine cover with elaborately carved heat extraction holes that match those in the rear bumper. The glass is nearly four times stronger than regular annealed glass.
The first of five limited-edition 'Bare Carbon' models makes its premiere with the Venom F5 Revolution Roadster at The Quail, a Motorsports Gathering. To emphasise the F5's beautiful lines, each individually commissioned hypercar in this series features a hand-placed carbon-fibre weave that is systematically constructed in a herringbone pattern. The exposed composite is shielded by a highly polished clearcoat, while brilliant opaque paint creates a remarkable visual contrast from all sides.
John Hennessey, company founder and CEO: "The new Venom F5 Revolution Roadster combines our track-focused hypercar with an open-top for an unmatched visceral driving experience. This first example, a bespoke build for a special client, debuts our bare carbon finish with its meticulous handcrafted exposed carbon-fibre weave. Our hypercar is a timeless work of art that is as visually inspiring as it is physically engaging, thanks to its 1,817-hp combustion-only twin-turbocharged V8."
The fourth vehicle to join the Venom F5 family is the Revolution Roadster. Although each of the 1,817 bhp variations has been carefully built for a particular task, they all share the same decathlete mission—uncompromised acceleration, braking, and handling. The F5 Coupe aims for the highest possible maximum speed. The F5 Roadster, with its open roof, offers a visceral experience, while the F5 Revolution is track-oriented. The new F5 Revolution Roadster, which combines visceral open-air motoring with a racing circuit concentration, combines the greatest qualities of these vehicles at the same time.
On August 18 at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, during Monterey Car Week 2023, the brand-new Venom F5 Revolution Roadster made its official public premiere. Exclusiveness is an understatement given that the production is sold out and the price starts at $3M for just 12 pieces.
