McLaren x Bowers & Wilkins: Zeppelin McLaren Edition.

The well-known British luxury audio firm Bowers & Wilkins has released a new version of their award-winning wireless speaker in partnership with its long-term business partner McLaren Automotive. The brand-new Zeppelin McLaren Edition has arrived.

The new model, which takes design cues from the McLaren brand, is a celebration of both the cooperation between these two industry-leading performance brands as well as McLaren’s 60th anniversary.

Bowers & Wilkins has produced a specially customised version of their Zeppelin wireless speaker, which features a polished Galvanic Grey finish with subtle Papaya Orange accents inspired by McLaren Automotive’s design approach. This announcement comes on the heels of the success of Bowers & Wilkins’ Px8 McLaren Edition headphones.

The Zeppelin McLaren Edition delivers the high-performance sound quality that is familiar with Bowers & Wilkins, together with a design that connects enthusiasts of McLaren supercars to the visual identity of the McLaren brand. This edition of the Zeppelin reflects the technological and performance-led style that is characteristic of McLaren.

In addition, Bowers & Wilkins is unveiling a limited-production version of the Zeppelin, which was designed to commemorate the 60th anniversary of McLaren’s history and Bruce McLaren’s contributions to the company. There will be a total production of sixty unique examples of the Zeppelin McLaren 60th Anniversary Edition.

This limited-edition version boasts racing livery-inspired colours, including a brilliant orange finish that gives the Zeppelin’s instantly recognisable form an even more unique appearance. Additionally, a Speedy Kiwi is featured on the back of the product as a nod to Bruce McLaren’s pioneering concept of the product. Only sixty of the limited-edition vehicles are being made available for purchase at select McLaren locations across the world.

The Zeppelin is a wireless smart speaker that has been redesigned for the era of streaming and functions as a complete audio system in a single unit. It has 240 watts of amplification powering its specialised left and right speaker assemblies, as well as its big centre subwoofer, and it has driving unit technologies of reference grade set in each. As a consequence, you get room-filling stereo sound that no other single-box competitor can match.

Whether the music is coming from a source that is wirelessly linked or from a streaming service, the overall result is great performance thanks to the combination of tried-and-true drive unit technology with its high-resolution streaming platform.

In conjunction with the release of the brand new Zeppelin McLaren Edition, Bowers & Wilkins has offered both wireless multi-room functionality as well as additional music streaming services that can be accessed through their Music App. The new model, along with all Zeppelins for which it is compatible, will now be able to take advantage of enhanced multi-room compatibility with the Panorama 3 and the Formation array of wireless speakers. Users of Bowers & Wilkins products may now effortlessly connect and configure their in-home wireless speaker system, and the Bowers & Wilkins Music App makes the entire process simple to set up and operate for the utmost convenience.

In addition, Bowers & Wilkins has expanded its direct streaming service for its wireless speaker users, which can be accessed through the Music App. With the release of the Zeppelin McLaren Edition comes the inclusion of Amazon Music, Amazon Music HD, and Pandora (only available in North America). These new services provide customers with more options than ever before for listening to high-quality music through the Music App.

Since 2015, Bowers & Wilkins has been in charge of the research and development of the high-performance audio systems used in McLaren Automotive’s supercars and hypercars. The alliance is founded on solid technological foundations while also being rooted in the same ideals of both businesses, which strive to produce the greatest possible levels of performance.

In recent years, Bowers & Wilkins has collaborated intently with the design and engineering teams at McLaren to develop and perfect the audio system that is installed in the McLaren 750S, which is the company’s newest and most cutting-edge supercar. In keeping with its forebears, the 750S is equipped with the most recent advancements in speaker technology. These advancements were made at Southwater, which has served as the headquarters for the Bowers & Wilkins research and development team since 2019.
