Shelby Cobra roadsters roar back into Great Britain.

In the UK, brand-new CSX10000 Shelby Cobras will be offered as complete vehicles for the first time in over 60 years. This most recent iteration of the renowned roadster blends the lineage of the 1962–1967 Shelby Cobra in world championships with a number of modern advancements, including as a new Ford Coyote V8 engine that can be supercharged to 700 horsepower. The new Shelby Cobra CSX10000 will first be sold only in the UK by legally authorized specialized merchant Clive Sutton.

The Shelby Cobra was first displayed at the New York Auto Show in 1962, and a computer-developed chassis and a large block Ford engine were added in a 1965 upgrade. Now, thanks to a deal with Shelby, Clive Sutton will be the first to offer UK customers a fully assembled, turnkey Shelby Cobra in its most recent guise. This landmark honors the renowned roadster's victorious return to the UK.

The 5.0-liter Coyote V8 engine, which is also used in the most recent Ford Mustang, is included in the CSX10000 series of automobiles. This naturally aspirated, fuel-injected engine generates 460 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque when connected to a 6-speed Tremec manual gearbox.

Specially created 18-inch wheels with Continental Extreme Contact Sport tires in the back and 275/35ZR18 in the front closely match the original 15-inch Cobra wheels. The updated version of Shelby's original 1960 Cobra is completed with power steering and Wilwood power-assisted 4-pot brake callipers. Both a right- and a left-hand drive version of the sports automobile are offered.

Customers looking for the best performance may order the Shelby Cobra in an exhilarating supercharged configuration, which produces 700 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 550 lb-ft of torque at 5,800 rpm. A Whipple twin-screw 3.0 liter supercharger is fitted to the vehicle as part of the update, giving it power and performance that pay homage to the first, thrilling Shelby Cobra of the 1960s.

The new car's interior has dials and gauges that are exact replicas of those seen in the first-generation Shelby Cobra as a way to honor that model. The inside is also lavishly upholstered in diamond-stitched leather, and clients may choose from a selection of colors and stitching to match the vehicle's famous appearance.

M. Neil Cummings, CEO of Carroll Shelby Licencing: “Our founder, Carroll Shelby would be impressed with this latest evolution of his original Cobra that he first created in 1962 after he won Le Mans as a driver in 1959, then turned to his dream of designing and building his own special world-beating sports car. He retired as a Le Mans-winning driver due to a heart condition that required him to pop nitro-glycerine tablets to keep his heart going to the finish line.

“Bringing this Shelby turnkey car to the UK with our retailer Clive Sutton is a special moment for Shelby. It’s a fitting reminder to the world that Shelby is the original, genuine designer, builder, and Manufacturer of Record for the Shelby Cobra, which won the 1965 FIA World Manufacturers’ Championship while beating Ferrari for the first time in the FIA GT class.”

Each Cobra CSX10000 will be registered in the Shelby Cobra Registry, which lets owners and purchasers to differentiate genuine Cobras from copies, and will be recognized by Shelby as a separate new model. This acknowledgment boosts prestige, serves as a base for providence, and protects investment assets.

Clive Sutton, founder and CEO: “It is an immense honour to be the first market globally to receive the Shelby Cobra CSX10000. As an officially recognised and licensed Shelby Cobra, the car will provide a strong investment opportunity alongside its spine-tingling performance and retro styling.”

As 2023 marks the 100th anniversary of Carroll Shelby's birth, it is a significant year to start taking orders for the most recent generation of Shelby Cobra. The new design completes Shelby's line of continuation Cobras, the CSX6000, which are outfitted with famous large block V8 engines and are constructed in accordance with original 1960s standards.
