Sustainable Gastronomy Festival in Mauritius.

The famous Michelin Green Star Chef Thomas Collomb and Heritage Resorts in Mauritius are proud to announce the second round of their Sustainable Gastronomy Week on the island. The festival will take place from 10 July to 15 July 2023, building on the popularity of the outstanding culinary creations from the previous year. In order to promote Bel Ombre as a culinary destination in Mauritius, it is planned to highlight local culinary skills combined with the variety of rich agricultural offerings in the area.

This year, the hotel has enlisted the help of Thomas Collomb, the head chef at the One Michelin Star restaurant La Table d'Hôtes, who has a deep knowledge of French cuisine and an unparalleled ability to blend traditional methods with cutting-edge flavours, to create a one-of-a-kind gastronomic experience for guests.

Last year, Heritage Resorts teamed up with regional producers like farmers and fishermen to feature the best of Bel Ombre Territory in every dish.

Guests can anticipate experiencing the intensity of the island of Mauritius while preserving its integrity this year as Heritage Resorts elevates the sustainable gastronomy festival. Heritage Resorts is dedicated to exhibiting the best of Bel Ombre in every meal as well as a creative and inventive approach to sustainability since it thinks that luxury is compatible with longevity.

Following a favourable response the previous year, chefs from each hospitality location around the Domain will have the chance to create a distinctive sustainable gala dinner, which will be judged by Chef Collomb and the other members of the jury. The winner of this friendly competition will spend a week-long immersion session with the Chef in his restaurant in France. Chef Krisnen Ruttun of C Beach Club won first place in 2022 and was given the opportunity to spend a week in Lyon working with renowned Michelin Star Chef Christian Tetedoie.

Food waste reduction, the provision of environmentally friendly and short-circuit food solutions, the development of culinary relationships with regional food producers, and aiding in the improvement of the local communities are all goals of Heritage Resorts and their culinary partners. The chefs will use resources acquired from the island's farmers, fishermen, and growers to create creative new gourmet dishes that highlight the abundance of locally caught, grown, and raised ingredients.

The Bel Ombre region, which is part of Mauritius, is a location of stunning natural beauty with a thriving cultural and gastronomic legacy. The region is home to a range of fresh, flavourful foods that influence the regional cuisine thanks to its lush land and abundant sea.
