The North: The Arctic Horizon
The North’s custom, three-week itinerary for the Arctic Horizon will cover seven marvels spanning the Arctic Circle. It was carefully curated by the luxury hospitality industry veterans of HL Adventures and led by the foremost experts and guides in the region. A small, 50-person adventure group will travel to places that are usually out of our reach to explore the edge of the globe. Together, they will experience expansive landscapes, magnificent wildlife, and rare, genuine interactions with nearby indigenous people.
“As a lifelong explorer of the Arctic, my vision is to make the last frontier accessible to a select few who share my passion and respect for these rarely experienced, untouched regions,” said Founder Jón Olafur Magnussen. “What I am sure will be a life-changing adventure for our guests is the culmination of my life’s work. I am confident our team’s meticulous eye for detail will ensure an unrivalled level of service throughout these most extraordinary destinations.”
A completely customised Boeing 757-200, which typically accommodates well over 300 passengers, has been privately chartered from Icelandair and updated with 50 lie-flat seats for a more comfortable and restful environment. While taking into account dietary preferences, requests, and restrictions, a personal chef will create meals inspired by the location. On-board hosts and a committed concierge team will look after all of the needs of the visitors. Each explorer will receive a customised iPad that includes a schedule for the day, an in-flight entertainment system, and a gallery of images taken by The North’s professional photography team every day.
The organisers of this brand-new, once-in-a-lifetime adventure have enlisted the help of their elite partners to combine the best experiences from each location, drawing on their more than 20 years of destination management expertise. The Arctic Horizon will realise this dream without sacrificing comfort or service thanks to the knowledge and experience of The North’s hand-selected partners. This trip to the last great frontier frequently only exists in the wildest imaginations of even the most adventurous travellers.
The journey will come to an end with a celebratory farewell gala supper at the expedition lodge and luxury camp of the Arctic Explorers’ Club. This members-only organisation, which was founded in 2015, is made up of explorers, travellers, and companions who have a lifelong passion for the Arctic. The Club offers visitors the chance to continue their journey together and to create new chances each year to further their knowledge and understanding and explore this world beyond the horizon, in addition to supporting a foundation that educates kids all over the world about the Arctic.
This once-in-a-lifetime experience costs each participant 187,000 Dollars (based on double occupancy; 10 percent supplement applicable for solo travelers). This all-inclusive trip includes ground transportation, all meals, first-class accommodations, a wide range of excursions and activities, special events and private access, private flight travel, and all gratuities.
