The Other House: Exciting, Eclectic, & Boldly Designed
At the beginning of this year, The Other House, which is located in South Kensington, began hosting visitors for the very first time. This forward-thinking concept provides all of its residents with living quarters that are comparable to apartments, the luxuries of a Private Club, and hotel amenities on demand, and as an added plus, membership is not required to take advantage of any of these advantages.
It is becoming the place to go for those who are from the city itself or who are visiting from overseas and need a place to call home, but it is also an exciting, eclectic, and boldly designed new destination for guests who are only staying for a few days at a time. Guests are welcome to name it their home. It is the first establishment of its kind in the UK, and in addition to a Private Club for residents and services comparable to those provided by hotels, it provides something that is referred to as “Club Flats.”
Located on the beautiful Harrington Gardens in South Kensington, and it is home to more than 200 Club Flats in addition to private meeting and dining rooms and thrilling event spaces. Its Private Club has two bars, a screening room, and comprehensive wellness and wellbeing facilities, such as a vitality pool, state-of-the-art gym, and meditation centre, all of which are available to residents as well as a select list of members from the outside community. In addition, there is a street café that is open all day called The Other Kitchen, as well as a bar that specialises in specialty cocktails called The Owl and Monkey.
The Other House provides a one-of-a-kind experience for guests who want to live like locals and have the sense that they are in their other house, regardless of the length of their stay, whether it be one night, one month, or one year. It was designed using a residential lens rather than the traditional hotel approach.
The partnership between The Other House and a number of ambassadors, each of whom has their own distinctive take on a variety of areas of The Other House, is part of the company’s overarching effort to create memorable events and become a hub for stimulating discussions and gatherings. Among these are Pandora Sykes, DJ Fat Tony, and Arizona Muse, all of whom exemplify the guiding principle of The Other House, which is to be “as intelligent as an owl and as curious as a monkey” (the wise owl who cares for people and the planet and the curious monkey who looks for new experiences).
Naomi Heaton, Co-owner and CEO at The Other House, explained: “A key strand of our vision was to partner with ambassadors who encapsulate and promote the different values that are important to us at The Other House. Our ambassadors will help us create memorable experiences for our residents through music, books, culture and fun as well as joining in our commitment to a more sustainable planet. They will help us make The Other House much more than just a place to stay but a place to live like a local and I am delighted that Pandora Sykes, DJ Fat Tony and Arizona Muse will be part of this. We are incredibly excited to officially open our doors in South Kensington on 5th July and see The Other House come to life.”
The innovative hospitality concept recently debuted The Other Space, a unique health retreat devoted to self-discovery and exploring the “Other” part of yourself, in addition to the opening of the Residents’ Club at The Other House, in South Kensington.
The Other Space, which became available to residents and members of The Other House at the beginning of August 2022, contains a specialised wellbeing area that offers a specifically selected menu of spiritual, alternative, and holistic treatments to rebalance and rejuvenate the body and mind. These include a set time each week for group lessons, as well as private and on-demand options. Each holistic therapist has been carefully selected for their level of experience and esoteric abilities, and their services range from astrological courses and shamanic healing to chakra cleansing, reiki treatments, and breathwork sessions. In addition, The Other Space offers its guests the services of a Wellbeing Concierge, who is available to tailor personalised treatments specifically to each guest’s needs.
Soothing sound healing sessions
Cacao & Sonic Medicine, Crystal Singing Bowls, and Reiki-infused Sound Baths are just a few of the deeply relaxing sound healing sessions that are available to residents and members of The Other Space. These sessions are designed to leave participants feeling relaxed, revitalised, and refreshed after participating. The Sensory Gong Sound Journey provides a wide range of sounds and tones that put the mind into a meditative state, thereby reducing stress, improving the quality of sleep, and alleviating chronic pain. These benefits can be attained through the use of healing therapies.
Body sessions
The Other Space is aware of the fact that the mind and the body are inextricably linked. When we are out of balance, the body will communicate with us in a variety of different ways. Expert guides will support your personal needs with whatever your body needs through a diverse range of body sessions, including Ayurvedic Consultation, Breathwork Sessions, Bodytalk, Somatic Sessions, Essential Oils, Sonic Acupuncture, and Yoga Workshops. These body sessions are just a few examples of the many body sessions available. The sessions will nourish you from the inside out, ranging from profound relaxation to a sensation of renewed vitality.
Naomi Heaton, CEO, Founder, and Co-Owner of The Other House, notes: “We consider every aspect of the experience The Other House provides so our residents and members can live and feel better. This extends from our focus on mindfulness, health, wellbeing, and sustainability to creating iconic environments and exciting interiors to inspire and uplift. Enabling every person who stays with us to have a positive impact on themselves, the people around them, and the planet is key to the vision of The Other House.”
Prioritising one’s mental, physical, and spiritual health has never been more important than it is now in the wake of the pandemic; this is the guiding principle behind The Other House, which was founded in response to the pandemic. Alex Holbrook, Head of Wellbeing at The Other Space, founded “Otherness” in 2018, which is a well recognised wellness platform with a world-class portfolio of industry professionals in the wellbeing sector. Alex Holbrook is also the founder of “Otherness.” Holbrook will bring a unique offering to The Other House this summer through the introduction of The Other Space, creating an unparalleled luxury wellness offering for residents and members who are looking to lead an intentional and conscious lifestyle on all levels (physically, emotionally, and mindfully).
Alex Holbrook, Head of Wellbeing at The Other Space, explains the new wellness concept: “We believe that every one of us has an inner self that needs to be nourished just as much as our bodies and minds. We are increasingly living in a time of ‘faith unbundled’ whereby we create our own toolbox of wellbeing; mixing spiritual modalities and traditions, with exercise and self-care, to form our own balance in life. We want our residents and members to explore these offerings, in a safe space, with vetted guides and state-of-the-art facilities. We champion positive impacts, whether that is for the planet, the community, or self.”
