Mulliner has created a singular Private White V.C. Bentayga, which Bentley Motors has officially unveiled as a limited edition. This unique Bentayga, which Bentley Manchester and Mulliner commissioned, embodies the British history, fine craftsmanship, and opulent fashion that are synonymous with Bentley Motors and Private White V.C. Following its purchase by a local enthusiast, this particular Bentayga variant has already found a home.

Born in 1896, Private Jack White joined the military to support the First World War fight. After being granted the Victoria Cross for his valour in wrapping a copper telephone wire around himself to save an officer, soldiers, and equipment, and swimming over a river in the face of intense gunfire to save others, he returned to Manchester as a war hero.

The specially commissioned Bentayga Azure incorporates various copper details throughout the cabin, including seat piping, embroidery, and unique features depicting the copper telephone line. This design pays homage to the bravery of Private White and the current apparel line. Additionally, the design and utility of clothes with military inspiration are reflected in the neat, efficient stitching lines on the seats and door interiors. The Private White V.C. lettering and exclusive embroidery, which include the Victoria Cross symbol on the headrests, flawlessly complete the interior details. The loose pillows at the back were made from a cashmere fabric woven in Lancashire that was specially commissioned to honour Jack White’s regimental blanket stripe.

The passenger fascia of the dashboard has a silhouette of “Cottenham House,” the Private White V.C. factory constructed in 1853, and organ stops finished in anodized copper. A discreet bonus is that, in addition to the custom treadplates, there is a subtly stitched bulldog in the door pockets, which symbolises the unofficial mascot of the firm that is frequently spotted at the factory these days.

The Bentayga has a dark sapphire exterior with a modern Blackline Specification and rear privacy glass. The 22-inch custom brightly machined colour-matched wheels serve as a sombre backdrop for the delicate copper highlights and Private White V.C. custom badging. The buyer of the limited edition will furthermore get a capsule collection of handcrafted clothes from Private White V.C. as part of this exclusive curation, which is the last highlight of this personalised cooperation.

On December 23, 1896, in Leeds, Jacob Weiss gave birth to Jack White. He was in Sweden when the war started, but he later went back, enrolled in the King’s Own 6th (Service) Battalion, and fought in the Middle East, serving in Mesopotamia (Iraq) and Gallipoli. For his courage on the night of March 7–8, 1917, when Captain S. Patterson and 60 other Battalion members, including White, tried to cross the Dialah River, he was granted the Victoria Cross. “No. 18105 Pte. Jack White, R. Lanc. R.

This signaler, during an attempt to cross a river, saw the two platoons ahead of him come under heavy machine-gun fire, with disastrous results. When his own platoon had reached midstream, with every man except himself either dead or wounded, he found that he was unable to control the platoon. White promptly tied a telephone wire to the platoon, jumped overboard, and towed it to the shore, thereby saving an officer’s life and bringing to land the rifles and equipment of the other men in the boat, who were either dead or dying.

Jack White started an apprenticeship as a pattern cutter at his neighbourhood raincoat manufacturer after serving in the military. He advanced through the ranks quickly, becoming general manager in 1934. Less than twenty years into his employment, he took over as the factory’s sole proprietor in 1937.

The Ministry of Defence commissioned Private White V.C. to provide waterproof parkas to the RAF in the 1940s after they had provided cotton gabardine trench coats to the Allied Forces in 1916. With over a century of experience, Manchester-based Private White V.C. provides fashionable clothing crafted from the best fabrics and workmanship.

Private White V.C. volunteered at the Department of Health & Social Care in 2020 to help fight the COVID-19 pandemic on a worldwide scale. Since then, the company has grown to become the nation’s largest producer of surgical masks and gowns suitable for medical use.

The exceptional personnel of the Private White V.C. plant, which is situated on both banks of the River Irwell, are the reason behind its continued success; they are tenacious and driven. The group, which consists of more than 100 individuals from 13 different countries, works hard every day to create the best clothing possible, utilising only the best locally sourced fabrics and materials.
