Yamaha XSR125: CLASSIC STYLING & INDIVIDUAL EXPRESSION

Classic styling, individual expression, and state-of-the-art performance come together in Yamaha Sport Heritage models, making them a hit with riders of all ages and experience levels since the category’s inception.

The XSR brand has become the go-to for motorcyclists who value true charisma and historical authenticity in their bikes. Both the XSR700 and XSR900 are designed to give riders the best of both worlds, paying homage to some of Yamaha’s most legendary models from the past while still providing cutting-edge levels of engine, chassis, and brake performance.

Yamaha’s Yard Made initiative, which has fostered and supported the building of many special projects by some of Europe’s most imaginative bike builders, has contributed to the rising popularity of Yamaha Sport Heritage bikes. Yamaha has invested heavily in the Yard Built scene up to 2022, and they have plans to keep doing so beyond that year. The Yard Built initiative has seen the fabrication of over 60 unique, one-off specials based on production Sport Heritage models.

A standard Yamaha production model is the ideal canvas for transforming into anything from a flat tracker or scrambler to a café racer, as the Yard Built movement has demonstrated. Yard Made Yamahas have revitalised the custom scene and reinforced the Faster Sons community by drawing inspiration from some of Yamaha’s most classic designs from the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s and equipping them with timeless characteristics like spoked wheels, vintage colours, and quality components.

Inspiring many riders to customise their own machines and create something very special that reflects their own personal lifestyle while also adding an exciting new dimension to the world of motorcycling, the Faster Sons philosophy blends heritage design with contemporary technology in its own unique way. The new XSR125 Legacy incorporates some of these vintage touches, like spoked wheels, as standard equipment, demonstrating how tastefully this motorcycle blends classic style with cutting-edge innovation.

Yamaha has always strived to create motorcycles with unique personalities that appeal to the largest possible audience. Rider feedback has been integral to the design process for every new model since July 1955. Because of this dedication to its customers, the firm has been able to design groundbreaking motorcycles for the past seven decades.

The new XSR125 Legacy exemplifies the company’s goal of “Kando,” the Japanese term for “deep satisfaction,” which aims to develop items that move people emotionally and spiritually.

The XSR125 Legacy was based on the same 125cc VVA engine and chassis construction as the original XSR125, which debuted in 2021 and went on to great success. A variety of cosmetic upgrades give the XSR125 Legacy a distinctive neo-retro appearance and a one-of-a-kind feel that sets it apart from other motorcycles.

The new designs are an homage to the higher capacity XSR versions and serve to further emphasise the tight familial links between the various Sport Heritage products. Pinstripes in gold and silver draw attention to the fuel tank’s traditional circular profile, and a spare gold design on the doors and quarter panels matches the wheels’ metallic sheen.

Historic Black covers the fuel tank, side panels, and fenders, while the Deltabox frame, swingarm, upside-down forks, and engine covers are all black for a sleek, understated design that’s fitting for a new 125cc motorcycle.

These updates highlight the Sport Heritage brand’s motto, “Inspired by the past, developed for the future,” by giving the new model a distinct appearance and personality that harken back to vintage Yamahas. If you’re a rider who values classic good looks and wants a bike with cutting-edge engine and chassis technology that will take you where you want to go, look no further than the XSR125 Legacy.
