AC Cars Celebrates Anniversary.

The oldest operating car manufacturer in Britain, AC Cars, is celebrating three milestones as it enters its 123rd year. In addition to starting the manufacture of the brand-new AC Cobra GT Roadster in the UK, the carmaker has extended its Donington Park headquarters and just finished designing the AC Cobra GT Coupe, which will be unveiled later this year.

The Weller brothers founded their business on March 8, 1901, in West Norwood, London, as engineers, repairers, and builders of motor vehicles and motor cycles. That day will always be remembered as the founding date of AC vehicles. This was the firm that, when the successful Autocarrier was introduced in 1904, would eventually change its name to AC.

Exactly 123 years after it was initially announced, AC Cars is delivering on its pledge to release the first AC Cobra GT Roadsters this year. A 100,000 square foot factory on the south coast of the UK is producing state-of-the-art new sports vehicles. There is still space for growth, and the facility is currently equipped with custom assembly halls, additive manufacturing, and bespoke studios.

AC Cars' enlarged headquarters and research and development facility at the iconic Donington Park in the UK is the perfect starting point for customer test drives and upcoming AC Cobra GT Roadster displays, with the first year's production already allotted. The test drives will enable the full performance and drama of the V8 sports vehicle to be appreciated; initially, they will only be available to clients with planned orders. The brand-new Donington facilities, which are accessible to both clients and tourists, will eventually contain the company's archives and serve as a brand hub for the well-known brand.

In conjunction with the birthday festivities, AC Cars has also unveiled the first information on the AC Cobra GT Coupe, a brand-new model in the AC Cobra GT lineup. The new coupe, which debuted this spring and is built on the same cutting-edge vehicle architecture as the roadster, is currently taking reservations. It has a fixed head design but the same performance specs and hand-finished interior.

With the added benefit of a fully enclosed cockpit, this famous AC Cobra is the first to be developed as a coupe while maintaining many of the GT Roadster's visual cues. As the firm starts to broaden its lineup, the new coupe gives customers of AC Cars a unique option with specs comparable to the current model. The coupe will be formally introduced later this year, and it's just one of many interesting things that AC Cars has planned.

Speaking of the latest announcement, David Conza, Chief Executive Officer of AC Cars, said: “With UK production growing rapidly, our expansion at Donington Park underway, and the first clients scheduled to drive cars, AC Cars is looking ahead. I’m delighted to announce our next model, the AC Cobra GT Coupe, a car which has already been incredibly well received by clients. Our continued investment plan has allowed us to place the people, equipment, and facilities needed as we further commit to future models.”

With the launch of the new AC Cobra GT Coupe, the news of UK manufacture, and the growth of its activities at Donington Park, AC Cars is back on track following the release of the first details of a completely new model in 2022.

The new AC Cobra GT Roadster and GT Coupe provide a degree of performance and exclusivity not seen in any prior AC Cobra iteration because of their unique blend of timeless looks and state-of-the-art design and building methods.

The AC Cobra GT series is nothing short of groundbreaking, adopting a minimalist design that draws inspiration from the original automotive legend. The sports vehicles' distinctive aluminium chassis and powerful 5.0-litre V8 engine pay homage to the original design while still keeping up with five decades of design advancements.

The new location on the south coast of the UK is modelled after the AC Cars facility in Thames Ditton in the 1960s and emphasises the finest craftsmanship, with knowledgeable team members constructing each car to strict specifications.

The sophisticated construction of the AC Cobra GT Roadster and GT Coupe, which are very light and have remarkable torsional stiffness, calls for meticulous production methods to satisfy the high requirements of both AC Cars and modern supercar collectors.

With all the necessary trades and disciplines housed under one roof, the south coast location is now under development. This will enable AC Cars to improve its manufacturing processes as it ramps up production.

Along with the company's upgraded headquarters and research and development centre in Donington Park, the new location has aided in the creation of new automobiles. The historic racing circuit's expanded area and amenities make it possible to have future plans for a driving academy and possibly race operations.
