Spoil Your Mind & Body, in Superyacht Style.

Grey skies got you feeling blue? We’ve been learning how to rebalance mind and body, without depriving oneself of the finer things in life.

One of the latest trends in luxury travel sees health and fitness experts join their clients aboard private superyacht charters, where the client benefits from bespoke, round-the-clock attention to help them bring their health and wellbeing back into perfect balance.

With superyachts of 30m available for charter in the Mediterranean from £15,000 per week, and able to accommodate several guests, there’s no reason why wellness and decadence can’t go hand-in-hand. What better than to venture aboard with your dietician and chef, life coach, personal trainer and masseuse by your side?

For leading international superyacht charter and brokerage company, Camper & Nicholsons, charter clients looking for more health benefitting experiences whilst on charter is becoming ever more popular.

“Many of our listings offer this kind of well-being experience, with many purposefully seeking out crew members with additional skill sets, such as qualifications in yoga instruction, massage or sports specialists,” advises Tracey Scaife of their Monaco office.

Alongside the scuba diving, water skiing and on-deck Jacuzzis, the 69m superyacht Saluzi, available for charter with Camper & Nicholsons, features two treatment rooms on board and boasts two spa therapists amongst the crew to ease rejuvenation after a session in the yacht’s gym. Saluzi’s Chef also puts a focus on healthy eating.

Many of the larger yachts available for charter have carefully curated on board gyms and spa treatment facilities. Superyacht gym design specialists Gym Marine have seen requirements range from a simple selection of loose equipment that can be brought on deck when needed, such as resistance tubes, skipping ropes and stretching mats, right through to full decks dedicated to health and wellbeing with state-of-the-art gym equipment, saunas and even cryotherapy tanks.

“Exercise is a huge part of our lives now, and when you’re working hard to stay in shape at home, many don’t want to abandon that regime when they go on holiday. With space saving, multi-functional equipment, everything is possible,” advises Ed Thomas, managing partner of Gym Marine.

Depending on your cruising itinerary, you can reward your hard work on board with a little indulgence on shore too, seeking sanctuary from the burpees and deadlifts on deck in one of the Mediterranean’s many internationally acclaimed spas and resorts – the Hotel Cap Eden Roc near Antibes gets our recommendation!

Let’s face it, when you can take your morning jog along white sands, swim in turquoise waters and the view accompanying your morning yoga session is of a secluded bay with palm-tree-topped hillsides, we’re all a bit more likely to embrace the downward dog and find our inner warrior.
