Laid-back luxury at the shores of Baa Atoll!

With the launch of Avani+ Fares Maldives Resort on April 1, 2023, Minor Hotels' Avani brand will make its Maldives debut. The resort is poised to bring casual luxury to the shores of the Baa Atoll. The 176-key resort will be Minor's sixth property in the country. It will be built on the tropical island of Fares, which is on the western edge of the well-known heart-shaped atoll. This will cement Minor's position as a major player in the Indian Ocean destination.

The new high-end resort will open with a number of tempting deals that are meant to shake up the hospitality business in the Baa Atoll. This is in response to the growing demand for cheap vacations that don't skimp on quality. Vibrant couples, honeymooners, families, and groups of friends can reunite and claim heaven at Avani Beach Studios, starting at USD 650 per night, and Four Bedroom Beach Pavillions, starting at USD 2,800 per night.

The new resort, which can be reached from Velana International Airport in 35 minutes, will open the door to paradise with a variety of places to stay, such as beach pool villas, four-bedroom beach pavilions, and large three-bedroom overwater villas that are spread out across the island's turquoise bay. The two-, three-, and four-bedroom beach pavilions and two- and three-bedroom over-water villas at the Avani+ Fares Maldives Resort are perfect for family vacations and stays that everyone will remember. They have a lot of different parts, so they are both private and easy to get to. There are places to relax and places to have people over. With tribal-themed rooms that open up to private swimming pools and sun decks, guests can experience indoor/outdoor living while still being just steps from the island's immaculate white sands and sparkling shores. Visitors can walk along paths lined with palm trees to get to a variety of unique bars and restaurants, a water sports center, an AvaniFit gym, and a modern AvaniSpa. The AvaniKids and Teens Club will be buzzing with activity thanks to its regular events and outdoor excursions.

Only 61 islands total, including Fares, have access to the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of Baa Atoll's marine protected seas. The resort is near to two of Hawaii's most well-known landmarks: Hanifaru Bay, where visitors can see whale sharks and snorkel with manta rays, and the five islands landmark, a stunning chain of ring-shaped islands. The resort provides visitors with access to all the wonders of the enthralling underwater world of the biosphere, including twelve distinct dive sites off the beach, a 220-metre house reef teeming with marine life, including turtles and dolphins, and the nearby Fares reef, which is 600 metres off the shore.

At Avani+ Fares, there will be seven restaurants, as well as a private beach and dining in villas. At the hotel's main restaurant Ocean Terrace, the Skipjack poolside bar, as well as Charcoal, guests can enjoy Maldivian and foreign cuisine. While Tribe and Smuggler's Shack will serve sundowners and after-dark tipples with molecular cocktails and the biggest collection of rum in the Maldives, Hammock will provide grab-and-go snacks and kombuchas in the lobby. The resort's small farm will provide organic food, and nearby fishermen will bring the day's catch each day. The first kids-only eatery in the Maldives will be open to young customers and serve wholesome, well-liked cuisine.

"We are excited to confirm the opening date of the highly anticipated Avani+ Fares Maldives Resort and look forward to welcoming guests from 1st April 2023," said William Costley, Minor Hotels' Senior Vice President of Operations for Asia. "The first hotel opening in the area for more than three years, Avani+ Fares will continue to highlight Avani as a trailblazing hotel brand, filling a gap in the Maldivian hotel landscape".

Visitors can completely enjoy the natural beauty of the Maldives in true Avani style, partaking in activities like swimming, snorkelling, and diving during the day and moonlit parties and dancing on the sands at night. The resort's special opening deals include a seven-night getaway for a family of four lodging in an Avani Two Bedroom Beach Studio starting at USD 9,500 and a five-night stay for two in an Avani Sea View Studio starting at USD 4,100. includes transportation back by seaplane, taxes, and breakfast.
